Football: Kirkbymoorside aiming to play catch-up

KIRKBYMOORSIDE hope to finally return to action at home to Prudhoe Town on Saturday after having yet another game postponed.

The Moorsiders’ Wearside League match at Silksworth Rangers at the weekend was called off on Saturday morning, after a 9am pitch inspection, owing to snow and ice.

Prudhoe are in mid-table, while the Moorsiders are fourth from bottom having played only 19 league games so far, leaving them with 23 still to play.

The majority of these are at home, many having had to be rearranged not only because of the wintry weather but also poor drainage areas on their pitch.
