YORK-BORN Simon Dyson is aiming for an Indian stunner in a new break from his European Golf Tour campaign.
After three consistent performances in a hat-trick of Middle East missions, Dyson has opted not to tackle the European Tour’s next engagements in either the Joburg Open or the Africa Open, both in South Africa, to compete in a special one-off event in India.
The competition starts this Friday and runs through until Sunday, comprising a vastly different format.
Instead of four 18-hole rounds across four days, the India event pitches players into three rounds of just 14 holes apiece.
After proving the best of the players in the Dubai Desert Classic at the Emirates Golf Club – he hit 42 out of the 56 fairways, a 75 per cent strike-rate – Dyson will be looking to up his putting for an even healthier finish.
