Cavill spearheads Pickering Running Club’s Guisborough Woods push

PICKERING Running Club’s men took fourth place in the team competition of the Guisborough Woods traditional Christmas race.

A field of 150 runners took part in the 11-kilometre event and the Pickering men’s squad beat Loftus & Whitby, Hartlepool and New Marske Harriers.

Jayson Cavill led the Pickering charge with eighth place overall and fifth in category, in a time of 47 minutes one seconds. Steve Watson claimed 26th place and fourth in category in 51-18, while Mike Richmond was 27th in 51-35. Andy Harvey ran well to complete the team scoring, taking 11th in category in 57-54. Bob Horsman clocked 59-01, Mike Hetherton’s 60-30 earned him second in the super veteran category. Richard Todd timed 60-40 and Nick Cousins 60-43, with Dave Ward finishing in 65-04.

Kim England was fourth in category in 60-55, while Cath Watson timed 78-56 to secure third for the ladies team.
