Trial Biking: Peace ends year on high

Kirkbymoorside’s rising young trials star Dan Peace finished off a superb season with a fine win at Scarborough DMC’s Yuletide Trial. Due to atrocious weather conditions the event ran with three laps of ten sections.

Peace’s total of five were lost first lap when he failed the shark tooth rocks of Steve Brown’s. This kicked him into gear and the teenager then displayed a smooth, flowing technique that will stand him in good stead for the new rule change in 2013.

Chasing him home on 11 lost was Daniel Knaggs, from Whitby, who took runner-up berth on most cleans rule from yet another promising youngster, Pocklington’s Ollie Kendra.

Meanwhile, the expert class at Guisborough DMC’s Boxing Day Fancy Dress Trial was won by Whitby’s Andy Chilton, one mark ahead of Tom Affleck, from Yarm.

One of the few unpenalised rides on section five included that of Youth ‘B’ winner Jack Peace, while brother Dan won Youth ‘A’.
