York & District Golf League now in Par-Tee Golf Society
9:00am Saturday 27th October 2012 in Sport
IT’S party time this winter in and around York’s golf courses.
That’s because the York & District Golf League, which was established two years ago, has now been incorporated into the Par-Tee Golf Society.
The Society has just started a winter tour to be held at clubs in and around the Minster city.
First up was a visit to Mid- Yorkshire GC, where Jason Fletcher got the tour off to a flier by notching an unassailable 40 points.
John Morrison was second on 33 – he also claimed the nearest the pin prize – while third place went to Dave Kilner with 31 points.
The next event on the tour will be at Heworth GC on Sunday, November 4.
Said York & District Golf League secretary Martin Alderson-Crombie, above left: “We are having 12 events throughout the winter with each holding rankings points and prizes.
“The overall winner will win a free place on our end of tour trip to the North Shore course and hotel in Skegness.”
He added that there are places available for the winter tour and anyone interested should email him on martin@yorkgolfleague.co.uk or visit the www.yorkgolfleague.co.uk/home/futureevents website page.
