Football: Whitby Town aim to see off fellow Evo-Stik strugglers

Whitby Town will target two wins in four days against fellow strugglers on the back of an up and down week.

They host fellow strugglers Stocksbridge Park Steels tonight (Wednesday, 7.45pm) in the Evo- Stik League premier division and follow it with a home match against another side below them in the table, Ilkeston, in FA Trophy second round qualifying.

Whitby claimed only their second win of the campaign last Wednesday at Worksop Town thanks to a Nathan Mulligan goal midway through the second half.

However, they lost 4-2 at thirdplaced Witton Albion on Saturday.

Witton sailed two up through Daniel Andrews and Ashley Stott and, although goals either side of half-time by Shane Henry and Craig James brought Whitby level, Andrews got a second and a David McTiernan own goal late on sealed the home victory.
