Kirkbymoorside Reserves joined the teams already through to the last 16 of the Scarborough & District FA Junior Cup when beating Bagby & Balk 4-1 in the second round.
All the goals came in the opening half-hour, with Lee Nesfield hitting a hat-trick and Andrew Ferguson their other goal, with Bagby’s Martin Kendall pulling one back at 3-0.
Bagby played better in the second half but could not break down the determined Moorsiders defence.
Bradley Spink and Max Fraser were the victors’ men of the match.
Jack Pinder was another hat-trick man as Cayton Corinthians won 5-1 at Pickering Knights. Dean Cross and Josh Venner also scored, with Adam Ripley grabbing a late consolation for the depleted Knights, for whom player-manager Gary Dawson also hit the bar and goalkeeper David Bointon was man of the match.
Aislaby United beat Seamer Sports Reserves 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw. Seamer had gone ahead when Matty Morris headed in Sam Park’s cross but Kenny Temple equalised late on. Temple, Ben Chapman, Stevie Temple and Richard Jenkinson netted in the shootout for the winners.
The third round draw is: Ryedale SC Res v Loftus Athletic, Edgehill Res v Whitby RUFC, Athletico 2B v Gillamoor, Lealholm v Slingsby, Aislaby Utd v Lingdale Utd, Brotton RA v Kirkbymoorside Res, Cayton Corinthians v Filey Town Res, Old Malton St Mary’s Res v Flixton.
