Pool: Champion Jamie Barstow through

DEFENDING champion Jamie Barstow gained safe passage to the quarter-finals of the Malton & Norton League’s men’s individual competition as he won his qualifying group at the Royal Oak.

The competition got underway with 55 entrants playing at eight venues.

Barstow’s Union team-mate, Wayne Taylor, overcome all opposition at Bright Steels to book his place in the next round, while Richard Flynn won at the Kings Head and Mark Falshaw at the Derwent Arms to make it a quartet of Union players in the draw.

Steve Mills from Derwent Arms ‘B’ progressed as favourite from the Railway Tavern group, while Royal Oak have two players through as James Milson won at Hyde Park and Dan Munro at the Gate Inn.

No result has been received from the final group. The draw for the quarter-finals, and those of the Team KO, will take place on November 12 at Bright Steels, at 8pm.
