Photo competition closing date has now passed.

• Employees of The Press and Gazette & Herald are not eligible to enter.
• The competition is open to all photographers over the age of 16.
• Entries must have been taken in Yorkshire.
• Entries must be submitted digitally by e-mail to: photosales@ycp.co.uk (pictures must be high-resolution RGB jpeg attachments with a minimum size of 1mb and a maximum size of 5MB per e-mail and each image must include the photographer’s name in the filename).
• Entries will not be returned.
• Entries must include: the name and address of the entrant and a daytime telephone number. You must also supply details of when and where the picture was taken.
• The closing date is 12 noon on Thursday September 30.
• A maximum of three images per photographer may be entered.
• A panel of judges will assess all entries and a shortlist will be announced following the closing date.
• The organisers cannot be held responsible for e-mails that do not arrive due to the entrant’s e-mail security settings or restrictions placed by their Internet service provider or for any other reason. The names of the winners and runners-up will be published in the The Press and Gazette & Herald and on our websites, thepress.co.uk and gazetteherald.co.uk.
• The entrant who created the entry deemed by the judges to be the best image will be awarded the prize.
• The organisers reserve the right to change the prize to one of comparable value. The prize is not transferable and no cash equivalent will be available.
• By submitting images to the competition, each entrant confirms and warrants that: they are the sole author of each entry and that it is their original work; they own the copyright and any other intellectual property rights of each image; they have the permission of anyone pictured in the image (or, where the image shows any persons under 18, the consent of their parent/guardian) for the usage rights required by The Press and Gazette & Herald and will indemnify The Press and Gazette & Herald against any claims made by any third parties in respect of such infringement; they have not licensed or disposed of any rights in the image that would conflict with uses to be made by The Press and Gazette & Herald and their websites.
• By entering the competition, you grant The Press and its sponsors and supporters a non-exclusive, irrevocable licence to reproduce, enlarge, publish or exhibit, free of charge, on any media, the images for any purpose directly connected with the competition. This may include, but is not limited to: inclusion in a book showcasing winning images; a The Press calendar; display at any exhibitions; in The Press and associated titles; on The Press website and on the websites of sponsors and supporters; for use in all and any publicity or promotion connected to the competition, the book, the calendar, an exhibition etc.
• Finalists agree to take part in post-competition publicity
• The Press and Gazette & Herald reserves the right to remove any entries from the competition that it feels may breach or contravene laws of public decency or may bring the photographer into disrepute.
• The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
• Should the entries fall below the standard required by the competition organisers and the judges, then the organisers reserve the right not to award prizes.
• The Press and Gazette & Herald bears no responsibility for loss, damage or injury incurred as a result of participation (and/or) involvement in the competition and awards.
• The information given in these Terms & Conditions is correct, but we reserve the right to change any of the above without prior notice.
• By entering the competition, entrants will be deemed to have agreed to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. Any breach of these Terms by an entrant will void their entry. If a breach has occurred, but is discovered after the award of a prize, then the organisers may request the return of that prize.
