A father-of-two has scooped the top spot in our photography competition with a striking picture of Sheriff Hutton Castle.

Richard Burdon’s atmospheric photo of Whitby came third
Shaun Conway, 45, will receive a £75 prize Jessops voucher and will be invited to spend a week shadowing The Press team of photographers.
He said: “It will be a fantastic experience. I’m an IT consultant, but my most recent contract ended in October. I like photography, but I just don’t do enough of it.”
We asked readers to send photos that captured what Yorkshire meant to them. We received almost 400 entries.
David Hopley took the runner-up spot with his photo of kite buggying at Bridlington, while Richard Burdon came third for his photo of Whitby.
Martin Oates, The Press picture editor, said: “The standard was very high, but we felt these three pictures really stood out and Shaun’s photo of Sheriff Hutton Castle was by far the favourite.”
