Event highlights need for new pub

I WOULD like to thank through your newspaper the committee who organised the Jubilee celebrations at Low Marishes which was a fantastic, fun community event.
We were lucky with the weather as it was held in the field opposite the forlorn empty Schoolhouse Inn that used to be the centre of such events and a meeting place for all both local and visitors.
The attendance was amazing with an age range of nine months to 90 years young, which proves, I think, that the community of Marishes is strong and in need of the public house to be there for us as a meeting place, to hold functions and to go for a drink as we used to. Well done and a huge thanks to all concerned.
