IT seems to have completely eluded the media pundits, TV presenters and newspaper editors that the Chancellor has not cut public spending. It was up again in 2011.

I beg everyone not to heed the rhetoric but look at the Treasury numbers.

Until he drastically cuts public spending he cannot cut taxes. Only tax cuts can kick start and grow the economy. Without growth we will continue in recession for years.

A starting point would be a complete abandonment of the Coalition's energy policy, a re-commitment to dis-establishing quangos and stopping overseas aid until we can afford international philanthropic gesture politics.
