Wonderful day out

ONCE again I am compelled to put pen to paper to sing the praises of the Pickering Lions for their support, kindness and help for the residents and staff at the Alba Rose Care Home.

On June 15 it was arranged that residents would go on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway on a day trip from Pickering to Whitby. Some of the early birds (I was one of them) went on the first train out of Pickering. Two members of the Pickering Lions and their wives met us at the station.

They helped to get us on to the train and into the carriage and chatted to us throughout the journey. Once we arrived in Whitby, we went for coffee and then on for fish and chips.

We had a lovely day in Whitby. What a joyous, happy occasion and with such lovely people helping us.

A great big thank you from us all to the Pickering Lions. You are a grand bunch of people. Bless ‘em all. Please continue all of your good works. We welcome the great help you give us at Alba Rose.
