I ENTIRELY agree with the views of Bill Tait (Gazette & Herald, letters, April 15) about the state of the footpath between Lowna and Rawson Sike, in Farndale.
I believe the main cause of the damage to this footpath is motorbikes. When I walk on this footpath I frequently encounter motorcyclists on the path, often in large, apparently organised, groups.
I believe this is the cause of the deterioration of this path and, in places, especially immediately south of Ewecote Farm, there are now ruts the best part of a foot deep.
