IT is my opinion that all governments since the Thatcher era, Labour or Conservative care nothing for this country or the people who live in it.

We have seen our industry go over the years, fishing, ship building, engineering, mining and many more, with little or no effort from the government at the time to replace it with new opportunities.

All our utilities: water, gas, electric, transport and communications etc sold off to the highest bidder (all foreign). We saw more than a million people demonstrating against the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, but the government of the day didn’t listen.

Over the years, we have seen our education system and NHS being burdened with ridiculous changes, swamped with unnecessary administration, top heavy management, league tables, waiting times and it is still going on today.

We have austerity measures at present cutting back on the Armed Forces, police, fire service, ambulance services, closing libraries, sports centres, community centres etc. We have hundreds of charity food banks all over the country helping those in need.

What does that say about a government. Would you not be ashamed at having to resort to this to feed your people and cut back on what is essential to the basic running of the country.

Would you not be thinking where are we going wrong, and what can we do about it. Sadly for us we have a number of MPs who have been economical with the truth about their expenses, cover up all kinds of wrong doings, so what can we expect?

I used to think that being an MP was a full-time job in itself, but not so, many have second jobs, so running the country is not as important to them as I would have believed.

Yes, I realise it is easy to be negative, but much of what I have said has happened and still happening. At the age of 76, I have lived under many governments and have seen what they are capable of, and any good decisions they made were short lived and rarely made it into the next government. How good would it be to have MPs showing common sense working for the benefit of the people and country?

So who will I vote for? No idea.
