IF members of the public are worried about the plans by North Yorkshire County Council for the stripping out of almost all regular library staff from their libraries would they please ask their town council to arrange a public meeting with North Yorkshire County Council; write letters to the council; complete the consultation forms which are available from libraries or online and visit and write a contribution at “Save North Yorkshire Libraries” http://ny-libraries.org
If any North Yorkshire resident is prepared to help send round a petition in early January or can give information on their local campaign or would like to know of events/meetings planned in their area or collaborate in any way on this, please would they send me their name, address or phone number so I can let them have copies of the petition?
People can email johnopenlearning@yahoo.co.uk
This has to be drafted, circulated and sent to North Yorkshire County Council by the end of January.
John Dean, Beadlam
