I WELCOME the many appeals for a proper, informed debate on fracking, chaired by a credible, neutral person and sponsored independently.
Anything less is hugely damaging, not just to this important subject but to politics as a whole, especially in the run-up to electing politicians who do not trust us with the truth.
As someone seeking basic information before making up my mind, I am extremely worried about the potential problems, especially with a potential fracking site within a mile of our village.
Redacting reports was a big own-goal for the pro-fracking camp.
The recent scaremongering at the Ian R Crane talks undermined the credibility of the anti-fracking camp. Their recent masked protest is another error of judgement, trivialising the subject to win a photo opportunity.
Both sides, treat us with some respect and give us a proper debate.
