I ATTENDED a meeting at Norton Town Council on October 7. Being discussed was the planning application for the old ATS site in Commercial Street.

As a very worried resident living in Commercial Street, one of my questions related to the local GP service.

I asked Lindsay Burr, who is looking to develop this site under the umbrella name of her partner, Paul Sedman, about the lack of GPs who will care for all these people that she is proposing to parachute in there.

I think she had very selective hearing as she thought she had answered my question by telling me that they had 41 parking spaces (for 61 units).

Then in Ms Burr’s Party Lines the next day, she discussed her 45-minute wait to see a GP because they admitted their workload was overwhelming.

At the end of the meeting the town council rejected her proposal and she accused us of being parochial.

I, in turn, accuse her of being a hypocrite.
