NORTH Yorkshire council plans to restrict cars travelling along Meadowfield and Cherry Tree Walk in Amotherby to 20mph.
I believe this is a complete waste of local public money.
I am not aware of any research done on these roads highlighting a speeding problem.
I don’t believe any car could reach that speed on these short roads that are often congested with vehicles parked along the roadside.
I have never had any concern for speeding vehicles here and I walk Meadowfield up to six times a day.
New red and white speed signs would spoil the look of the road, and the village.
I urge other residents to object to these ludicrous plans by writing to: Area 4, Kirby Misperton Highways Office, Beansheaf Industrial Park, Tofts Road, Kirby Misperton, Malton YO17 6BG or email area4.kirbymisperton@northyorks.gov.uk before October 31.
There is a huge problem with speeding vehicles along Main Street, Amotherby. The money should be spent on restrictions along this road.
Sally Raines, Amotherby
