A MEETING regarding the High Malton plan – widely promoted by the Fitzwilliam Trust, Malton Town Council and West Malton Residents Group – was held in the Milton Rooms.
I attended and expected it to be a presentation providing an opportunity for all interested parties to debate the many issues relating to the proposed development.
While the visual display, extensive literature and computer-aided imagery produced the concept, it would appear the Trust in mustering their team of experts, had not legislated for the number who would not only attend, but also wished to participate.
Regrettably, with the absence of audio equipment it was almost impossible to hear either the presentations “experts”, or the questions and answers which ensued. “Is this what our town really needs?” and “Take time to look”, are two of the most recent conflicting letters recently published.
Might I request the Fitzwilliam Trust considers using amplification equipment in future meetings to ensure “planning experts” are not only seen, but also heard.
Regarding the objective of the meeting, it is my opinion little was achieved to endorse the progression of High Malton.
