THANK you for your very interesting article about fracking in last week’s paper. I cannot understand why such a huge issue as fracking in Ryedale is not being put out to public consultation.
Instead, we have a Government trying to change the law of trespass, giving all the rights to the energy companies to drill under our property without even informing us.
There is no transparency, which makes me extremely suspicious. I do not want fracking, the risks are too great.
Whatever happened to David Cameron’s pre-election promises to be the greenest government ever?
Instead, it’s all about the dash for gas.
It’s time for the voters to say “enough is enough” and let’s find other ways to provide the energy we all need.
