I WAS saddened to hear the problems that my old town of Malton is having regarding Wentworth Street.
I was born at number 28 Wentworth Street in 1940 and lived in Malton until 1957 when my family moved to Liverpool.
I remember vividly the snowdrifts in 1947 when I walked to Malton Infants School, which was also in Wentworth Street.
The last school I attended was the secondary school – the old one situated just off the Market Place.
I started serving my carpentry and joinery apprenticeship at Wilf Jacksons Builders, opposite The Talbot Hotel.
I would be delighted to hear from anyone who remembers me. Email scott.peter41@yahoo.co.uk
