FURTHER to the debacle that was our account with NPOWER, readers will be interested to know this company is still issuing demands to former customers for money that isn’t owed.

To recap: between March 8 and April 10 last year, NPOWER withdrew amounts in excess of £650 from my bank on four separate occasions.

The company blamed computer problems, but failed to correct this and these demands continued.

Eventually, after much publicity and pressure from the press and television, NPOWER agreed to refund my costs and pay £100 compensation.

The company only apologised after demands from my local MP and the Energy Ombudsman.

Now, 14 months after closing my account with NPOWER, I have received a demand for £20.30 owing on my account.

Remonstrating with the company and at least four different departments, the firm has finally admitted the same computer problems encountered during the upgrade last year, is still causing many customers and ex-customers to receive erroneous bills.
