IF anyone wonders why they see me often outside than library or at the bus station with my laptop or mobile, mostly at weekends, it is because these are the only places where I can access wi-fi free, without having to go into a shop or a café, such as Costa, to purchase something before I can access the service.
If we had a better internet signal in Malton and Norton or wi-fi provided by the council that could be accessed free of charge anywhere in the two towns, as other places do, I would not have to do this.
However, I am not breaking any law that I am aware of and so long as I can connect to the internet by this means I shall continue to do so because it is something we cannot live without in this day and age. I am not in a position to have broadband installed at home because this would mean getting a landline, which is becoming a thing of the past. We have to move with the times.
