I WRITE as secretary of Pickering and Thornton-le-Dale Royal British Legion.
At a recent committee meeting the possible threat to reduce the present services at Malton hospital to five days was wholly objected to and we wish to support all efforts to stop any further reduction of services.
Surgeries are not open, certainly in the Pickering/Thornton-le-Dale area, on Saturday or Sunday.
We have members not resident in the Ryedale district, but who spend holidays here, who may have need for medical attention during the weekend.
During the recent War Weekend in Pickering, one such member from South Yorkshire had need to visit the Malton hospital.
