A CHRISTMAS fair will be held at Newburgh Priory this week.

Drinks and canapés will be served tomorrow (Thursday) from 5.30pm to 9pm, followed by Christmas carols sung by the choir at Queen Mary’s School, near Thirsk. Tickets cost £7.50.

On Friday, from 9.30am to 3pm, the tearoom will be run by Miss Daisy’s Tearoom, selling homemade refreshments. Entry is £5 per person and tickets are available at the door.

Exhibitors include: Selina Scott Socks, The Pyjama House, Lion Witch and Wardrobe, Damson Tree Shop, Jess Arthur, Apatchy, Celebrate Country Cake Design, Firth and Co. Wine Merchant, Annwyn Botanicals, Blackbird House, Tulip and Nettle, Fulham Interiors, Ibbidirect, Nicky Jack Art, Coco Bella, Cherry Tree and Helmsley Traditional Sweet Shop.

Proceeds from the fair will be donated to Leeds Pediatric Rheumatology Department Supporting Juvenile Chronic Arthritis Trust Fund.

The event is sponsored by Savills’ York office and Queen Mary’s School.

Newburgh Priory, near Coxwold, stands on the site of an Augustinian priory, and was founded in 1145.
