MEMBERS of Ryedale Leisure Club for adults with learning disabilities have been collecting for the annual Children in Distress shoebox appeal.
The club, in Malton, has sent nine boxes to help deprived children in Eastern Europe.
Chairman Alan Clark said: “Despite their own personal problems, it was extremely rewarding to observe members enthusiastically preparing the shoeboxes with their personal donations of specified gifts complete with an enclosed greetings card.”
