One of the worst shipping disasters on the North Yorkshire coast will be marked at a special service at the Parish Church of St Mary’s, Whitby, on Saturday.
Eighty-five people died on October 30, 1914, when the Rohilla, a First World War hospital ship ran aground at Whitby, while on its way to Dunkirk.
