FINAL preparations are under way at Castle Howard ahead of this weekend’s firework spectacular which will see more than 8,500 fireworks launched into the sky above the stately home.

Kaboom is set to combine the best of Hallowe’en and bonfire night this year, against the historic backdrop of an illuminated Castle Howard.

Taking place on Saturday, November 1, Kaboom’s pyro-technicians will launch an average of 400 firework effects every minute of the show which is choreographed to a specially themed music track inspired by the supernatural movie blockbuster, Ghostbusters.

Kaboom at Castle Howard will also feature entertainment including freaky fire-glow jugglers, a spooky Sparkler Park for children, spine-tingling story-telling for junior ghostbusters, pumpkin carving, and a Fright Night funfair.

There will also be live music featuring York singer songwriter Beth McCarthy, who appeared on the BBC’s talent show The Voice earlier this year.

Tickets are priced at £12.50 for adults and £10 for children, under-16s, students and senior citizens. A limited offer £25 family ticket includes two adults and up to three children.

Tickets can be purchased in advance via www.kaboomyork.com or www.castlehoward.co.uk
