Town gears up for family fun day A FAMILY fun day is being held on Saturday as part of a series of events under the Love Norton 14 banner.
The event will include games, crafts and a barbecue at King George’s Playing Field, Norton, from 2pm to 5pm.
Organised by the town’s churches, including St Peter’s, Trinity Methodist, Bethel Methodist, The Salvation Army and Elim Ryedale, the aim of Love Norton 14 is promote what the churches do for individuals and businesses and organise events that will bring the community together.
The Reverend Rachel Hirst, vicar of St Peter’s, said: “People are getting behind the idea of Love Norton and are we are encouraging people to put what they like about the town on our Facebook site. We hope local residents will come along on Saturday and enjoy the afternoon which with is open to all and is free of charge.”
