CLAMPING down on domestic abuse, alcohol harm and serious road accidents, are three of the top priorities in the new Safer Ryedale Partnership action plan for the next three years.
In addition, which went before Ryedale District Council’s scrutiny committee last Thursday, (June 26) is to target older drivers with re-action and eye tests using volunteer advanced driving instructors.
A key aim is to reduce all crime in Ryedale by three per cent and to increase the number of “Watch” schemeswhich currently focus on pubs, shops and farms.
The partnership plans to develop a more pro-active CCTV security camera service in Malton, Norton and Pickering by contracting Scarborough Council to provide 24-hour monitoring.
