THE North East Area and the Scarborough and Ryedale branches of the British Korean Veterans Association are laying up their branch standards at Eden Camp, near Malton, on Sunday at 11.15am.

Founder member Ken Keld said it was hoped that as many Korean veterans as possible would be able to attend and make it a memorable event.

“It will be a very sad occasion for myself as the founder member of the area and branch that was formed 34 years ago, in which time I have made many friends,” he said. “But alas, age catches up with everyone and we wish to end in a dignified manner with heads held high.”
