PEOPLE are being reminded to dispose of their cooking oil correctly to prevent a costly bill.
A recent YouGov poll showed that 63 per cent of adults in Ryedale mistakenly believe that a water company would pick up the bill should a drain on their premises become blocked.
A total of 27 per cent of consumers admitted disposing their waste cooking oil down the sink, a common cause of costly drain blockages.
People are being urged to take any waste cooking oil to their local household waste recycling centre – one is located in Pasture Lane, Malton. To find our more and to find other waste cooking oil recycling facilities, visit livingfuels.co.uk
