PARISH and town councils in northern Ryedale say they are ‘standing together’ to oppose moves to reduce the opening hours of the civic amenity site at Wombleton, which serves a large number of communities.
Town councillors in Helmsley fear that it will result in flytipping in hedgerows and on verges.
Residents fear the move could eventually lead to closure of the county council-run facility and are now asking the county council to give assurances on its future.
