A ONCE popular horse ride and walk from Goathland village in the North York Moors rebuilt as part of a project to restore "missing links" across the national park.
The public bridleway between Beck Hole and Thackside Farm crossed an old ford and had been lost as water levels changed, meaning many walkers and riders abandoned the route, but North York Moors National Park staff have now widened a neighbouring bridge and put in new signs to make the route usable again.
Park ranger Naomi Green said: “This restoration work brings an historic bridleway back into use and means that walkers, cyclists and horseriders can now enjoy a fantastic circular route from Goathland.”
