DO you know your Chippendale from your Sheraton or your Doulton from your Wedgewood?
If not, find out more about the world of antiques on Tuesday, April 8, at 8pm, when auctioneer David Duggleby will be at Derwent Valley Bridge Community Library, West Ayton, to give a talk called “The Object in Question – An Exploration of Antiques”.
David is giving up his time to support the fundraising efforts of the Community Library, which is run by volunteers.
“It costs about £8,500 to run the Community Library, which is open 26 hours a week,” said Suzanne Carr, chairwoman of the management committee.
“This talk is one of a series of fundraising activities in 2014 and we are looking forward to a fascinating insight into the world of antiques. We are very grateful to David for his support and involvement with us.”
Tickets cost £8 and include a glass of wine or fruit juice and homemade canapés. Tickets are available from Derwent Valley Bridge, Pickering Road, West Ayton, or by phoning 01723 863052.
