Water pumps put into action
YORKSHIRE Water has installed a pump in Malton after surface water started to inundate the sewer system.
A spokesman said: “Pumps to take water out of the system have been put in place to prevent any flooding to properties. We will be leaving the pump running for as long as is needed, once levels drop again we will investigate the source of the surface water inundation.”
Ryedale District Council is continuing to monitor the situation because of river and groundwater levels.
