ENTRIES are open for the 48th annual Lyke Wake Race in which competitors complete 42 miles across the North York Moors in less than 12 hours.
The race attracts about 100 runners and walkers to race between Sheepwash near Osmotherley to Ravenscar across rough moorland. The record is just over four-and- a-half hours, with most club runners expected to finish in about seven hours.
The oldest competitor last year was 79-year-old Donald Potter, of Loftus-in-Cleveland, who managed the course in 11 hours and 21 minutes. Entries must be in by June 16 and the race will be on July 7.
