THIEVES have broken into a number of vehicles in the Thirsk area to steal tools.
Overnight on Wednesday, September 10, seven vehicles - mainly builders’ vans - were broken into in Thirsk, Sowerby and Carlton Miniott, and tools were stolen from each of them.
The thefts happened in Danum Avenue, Masonic Lane, Ripon Way, Cocked Hat Park, Admirals Court and Back Lane at the junction with Sandholme Lane.
Police have urged residents to always remove their valuables from vehicles at night.
