NORTH Yorkshire Police have been helping make the school summer holidays that bit more interesting for youngsters in Easingwold.

The town’s bobbies hosted a children’s activity day at the Galtres Centre, open to all children from the area who came along and put their skills to the test on the climbing wall, learned circus skills, were taught cycle safety skills, and got to play football and crazy golf, with some even getting to try their hand at bin bag fashion design.

Other activities included card games, arts and crafts, face painting and various competitions on the day the nearby COZIE youth centre was also open for activities. The event was supported by Broadacres Housing Association who provided the climbing wall for the event.

Police Community Support Officer Sophie Church, of Easingwold Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “The day had plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy, and gave local youngsters the chance to learn some new skills and have fun at the same time.”
