THIEVES stole metal furniture from a beer garden near Northallerton overnight on Wednesday, May 21.
The theft happened at the Chequers Inn, Dalton-On-Tees, where four cast iron garden tables and 24 Edwardian-style aluminium chairs worth a total of about £1,000 were stolen.
PC Carol Gordon, of Northallerton Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “Due to the amount of furniture stolen, the thieves will have needed to use a large vehicle to remove it.
“If you were in the Dalton-On-Tees area around the time of the theft and noticed any unusual vehicles or people acting suspiciously, I urge you to contact the police straight away. I am also keen to speak to anyone who has been offered items matching the description of those stolen and ask them to get in touch as soon as possible.”
