The Gazette & Herald has campaigned for years for an upgrade to Ryedale's major road which only last week saw another accident.
Hopes of a scheme to improve two particularly problematic spots - the Musley Bank junction at Malton, and the notorious Hopgrove roundabout near York - have received a major boost this week.
