More arrests in horse racing criminal gang investigation

POLICE have made two more arrests in connection with a gang suspected of targeting the homes and businesses of North Yorkshire’s horse racing community.

A man was arrested earlier this week prompting a call from North Yorkshire Police for trainers and others in the racing industry to review the security of their properties.

Today a spokesman for the force said: “We ask people to remain vigilant, take sensible precautions and to report any suspicious activity to the local police.

“Officers are undertaking extra patrols in areas used by the horse racing industry as reassurance to the local communities.”

The investigation currently remains ongoing.

Anyone with information should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 or call Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
