Service for kayaker Jason Raper

A MEMORIAL service has been held for a kayaker from North Yorkshire who drowned in a Norwegian river.
Jason Raper, 19, from Scarborough, was on a five-week European adventure holiday when he went missing in the River Raundalen on June 23. His body was found last month.
The service was held yesterday at the East Riding Crematorium at Octon, near Driffield.
Mr Raper went to college in York and was also a member of York Canoe Club.
An inquest into his death was opened and adjourned earlier this month.
