Man arrested over Filey burglaries

A MAN has been arrested following a series of house burglaries in a North Yorkshire town.
Mainly unoccupied properties in Filey were targeted towards the end of September and the beginning of October.
The 38-year-old was arrested in Nottinghamshire earlier this week by Nottinghamshire Police in connection with offences in their area and is due to be questioned by North Yorkshire detectives.
Sgt Tracy Smith, of Filey Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “These incidents have caused alarm for the residents of Filey and I hope this latest development gives them an amount of reassurance.”
