Yorkshire pathways avoid funding cuts

PATHWAYS in Yorkshire are avoiding funding cuts which are damaging access to the outdoors across the rest of the UK, according to a charity’s research.

The Ramblers said while eight out of 14 councils in the county have reduced the amount they spend on paths, the cuts have not been as severe as elsewhere in the country and Yorkshire is the only area not to have a local authority on the organisations “councils of concern” list.
