Shoe box appeal under way

The annual shoe box appeal in Pickering is now well under way.
Donations of filled shoe boxes or items to fill boxes such as toys, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, pens, paper, pencils, and sweets (not chocolate) can be sent to Daphne Bowes, 77 Middleton Road, Pickering. Other items required are knitted hats, scarves, gloves, and mittens.
Completed shoe boxes will be sent to deserving children and causes in Eastern Europe.
Last year, 505 filled boxes were sent from the Pickering area.
