Shoplifting suspect caught on camera
POLICE have released this CCTV image of a man suspected of stealing alcohol from a North Yorkshire supermarket.
The suspect entered Sainsbury’s in Falsgrave Road, Scarborough, at about 7.40pm on Wednesday September 19, and headed for the wines and spirits aisle.
He tried, unsuccessfully, to remove the security tags on various bottles, before selecting an untagged bottle of sherry and hiding it in his jacket.
The suspect, who was wearing a dark jacket and a baseball cap, then left the store without paying for the item. Anyone who recognises the suspect should phone police on 101.
