Brass band masterclass opportunity on offer

THREE brass band in Ryedale have come together to organise a masterclass event.
Kirkbymoorside Town Band, Swinton and District Excelsior Band and Stape Silver Band have organised a day of free brass tuition by two professional brass players, which will end in a concert showcasing the youth brass players in the region.
Ewan Easton and Andrew Berryman, who play principal tuba and principal trombone respectively for the Hallé Orchestra will be tutors for the day which will be held at Lady Lumley’s School, Pickering, on Sunday, October 21.
The concert will be open to all for a cost of £3 per person and will start at 5.30pm. The players will be performing pieces that they have practised during the day along with solo spots for Ewan and Andrew.
Any brass players who are not affiliated to either Kirkbymoorside Town Band, 01751 432813, Swinton and District Excelsior Band, 01653 69641, or Stape Silver Band, 01751 47560, can contact the bands directly to arrange a place at the event.
