Festival organisers call for new ideas
11:03am Wednesday 10th October 2012 in News
ORGANISERS of Scarborough Literature Festival are looking for people with unique ideas to get involved with a new event.
In 2013, Scarborough Literature Festival will be launching its own Fringe Festival – a vibrant programme of free events showcasing talented writers and performers from the region.
The festival is looking for ideas that are inspired by words. They may take the form of readings, new plays, comedy, music, visual art, film or something completely different.
Events will take place at libraries across Scarborough and Ryedale during the festival’s from April 11-14 next year. Suggestions for Fringe events elsewhere are also welcome.
Karen Atkinson, director of Scarborough Literature Festival, said: “The Fringe Festival is an exciting new departure for Scarborough Literature Festival – it’s fresh and it’s free. So, all you talented writers and performers out there, we need you to make Scarborough Literature Festival come alive.”
Application forms and guidance notes can be downloaded from the Scarborough Literature Festival website at www.scarboroughliteraturefestival.co.uk or from your local library. Submissions close on Monday, November 5.
Scarborough Literature Festival is supported by North Yorkshire County Council and Arts Council England.
